Is-Segretarju Parlamentari Deo Debattista jniedi Premju Servizz bi Tbissima 2018

“Din il-kompetizzjoni tagħti l-opportunità lill-konsumaturi u lin-negozji biex itejbu u jsaħħu r-relazzjoni ta’ bejniethom. Fil-fatt, l-iskop ewlieni għalfejn inħoloq dan il-premju hu li jinkoraġġixxi u jippromwovi prattiċi ta’ negozju li huma ta’ benefiċċju għall-konsumaturi”, spjega is-Segretarju Parlamnetari Deo Debattista waqt it-tnedija ta’ Premju Servizz bi Tbissima fil-preżenza taċ-Chairperson tal-Awtorità ta’ Malta għall-Kompetizzjoni u l-Affarijiet tal-Konsumatur Helga Pizzuto.

B’dan il-premju se jiġu rikonoxxuti dawk il-bejjiegħa li jimxu mal-liġijiet li jipproteġu lill-konsumaturi u li joffru lill-konsumaturi għajnuna u rimedji li legalment mhumiex obbligati joffru.

“Il-lealtà tal-konsumaturi għandha rwol importanti fid-destin ta’ negozju u tista’ tiddetermina jekk negozju jirnexxix jew ifallix. Illum il-ġurnata hemm kompetizzjoni qawwija fis-suq, kemm minn bejjiegħa oħra lokali kif ukoll minn bejjiegħa barranin u l-konsumatur sar ħafna aktar b’saħħtu”, qal is-Segetarju Parlamentari.

Iċ-Chairperson tal-MCCAA Helga Pizzuto qalet li dan il-premju jirrifletti l-importanza li l-Awtorità tagħti biex titjieb u tissaħħaħ ir-relazzjoni bejn il-konsumaturi u n-noegozjanti. Dan ifisser inqas tilwim bejn iż-żewġ partijiet. L-Awtorità rat tnaqqis konsiderevoli fl-ilmenti, bil-figuri jonqsu b’iktar minn 25% fl-aħħar tliet snin. Dan jindika li hemm iktar għarfien tad-drittijiet tal-konsumaturi u kompetizzjoni b’saħħitha għall-benefiċċju tal-konsumaturi.

Inġ. Pizzuto spjegat li bħall-edizzjoni tas-sena li għaddiet, il-kompetizzjoni ta’ din is-sena tkopri ħames kategoriji prinċipali ta’ negozji: bejjiegħa lokali online, negozji li joffru servizzi fi ħdan is-settur tal-ivvjaġġar, negozji li jbigħu prodotti elettroniċi u oġġetti tad-dar, supermarkets u minimarkets u ħwienet li jipprovdu prodotti u servizzi fil-moda u fis-sbuħija. Il-kompetizzjoni tista’ tiġi aċċessata permezz tal-paġna ta’ Facebook tal-MCCAA jew il-website www.mccaa.org.mt. Il-perjodu tal-kompetizzjoni hu miftuħ mill-Ħamis 24 ta’ Mejju 2018 sal-Erbgħa 4 ta’ Lulju 2018.

Deo Debattista appella lill-konsumaturi biex jipparteċipaw f’din il-kompetizzjoni kif ukoll lill-kumpaniji lokali biex jippromwovu din il-kompetizzjoni. “Dan il-premju għandu jkun għodda li permezz tagħha nirrikonoxxu l-aqwa kumpaniji lokali u għandu jservi ta’ inċentiv biex aktar kumpaniji jtejbu s-servizz li jagħtu għax dan bla dubju jirriżulta f’suċċess ekonomiku akbar”, ikkonkluda s-Segretarju Parlamentari.

Parliamentary Secretary Deo Debattista launches ‘Premju Servizz bi Tbissima 2018’

“This competition gives consumers and business owners the opportunity to strengthen their relationship. In fact, the aim of this competition is to promote business practices beneficial to the consumer”, Parliamentary Secretary Deo Debattista said during the launch of ‘Premju Servizz bi Tbissima’ in the presence of Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority Chairperson Helga Pizzuto.

With this competition business owners who abide by consumer protection laws and offer consumers extra help which goes further than legally imposed, will be duly recognised.

“Consumer loyalty plays an important role in the future of a business and determinates whether it prospers or fails. Nowadays, we are facing a strong competition in the market, both from local business owners as well as international ones, and the consumer has become much more powerful”, the Parliamentary Secretary said.

MCCAA Chairperson Helga Pizzuto said this award reflects the importance the Authority gives to a better and stronger relationship between consumers and traders, leading to fewer disputes between the two. The MCCAA has seen a significant decrease in complaints with disputes figures falling by 25% in three (3) years. This indicates an increased awareness of consumer rights and a healthy competition to the benefit of consumers.

Ing. Pizzuto explained that as last year’s edition, this year’s competition covers five main categories of sellers. These are online local sellers, businesses offering services within the travelling sector, businesses selling electronic products and household goods, supermarkets and minimarkets, and retail outlets providing products and services in fashion and beauty. The competition may be accessed through the MCCAA Facebook page or website www.mccaa.org.mt. The competition period is open from Thursday 24 May 2018 till Wednesday 4 July 2018.

Deo Debattista encouraged consumers to participate in this competition and local companies to promote it. “This competition should be a tool with which we recognise the best local companies, and should also encourage more companies to improve their services as this, undoubtedly, results in further economic success”, concluded the Parliamentary Secretary.
