Introduction of tablets in schools a positive move – Labour MP Deo Debattista

Deo Debattista, said that the pilot project related to the introduction of tablets in schools will make it easier for students and teachers to get accustomed to them. He referred to studies that show that students follow monitors more than real activity.

Being a general practitioner himself, Dr Debattista said that the introduction of tablets will help students academically grow and will help students diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Asperger’s syndrome, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

He lauded the government for acknowledging the need to employ more Learning Support Assistants to address the needs of students with difficulties while also lauding the sabbatical year proposed for teachers willing to further their studies.

  1. I am a primary school teacher and at the moment am reading for a degree BPhil in SEBD by distance learning with University of Birmingham. Do I qualify for the sabbatical year?
